Birchfield and a David Bates-- he seems to be pandering to the collector, tightened up in the last years. If the paper as Roberta Smith said would give him some authority we might have another great painter. Contrary to Smith saying he does just fine with out the press he needs it to rise higher.
I like this little painting wish he could get around Hartley.
